Program Description:
The swallowing program focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of swallowing disorders. Treatment is provided via a comprehensive swallowing evaulation. Treatment is coordinated to maximize the patient's ability to safely and effiently handle as normal of a diet level as possible.
Patient Profile:
Patients with oral and/or pharyngeal dysphagia (swallowing disorders) resulting from the stroke, brain injury, cancer and neurological diseases such as Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis.
Referral:
Patients referrals are received from any licensed medical doctor. These include primary car physicians, neurologists, neurosugeons, otolaryngologists, internists, family practice physicians and gastroenterologists.
