 At the heart of the ACE Unit’s specialized treatment is an emphasis on increasing patient activity and functionality. This approach is designed to help stave off the decreased mobility, loss of physical function and complications that often occur when elderly patients are hospitalized. Even mild exercise as simple as moving to a nearby chair for visitors or meals can make a significant impact on the recovery process. Through increased exercise, socialization and patient interaction, the ACE Unit is designed to help keep elderly patients optimistic and active participants in their recovery.
